...one little word...

i resisted. at least i tried.
Ali E launches her One Little Word Project like she does every year.
and i resisted to join in.
me, who usually signs up for EVERYTHING!
but this just didn't speak to me or inspire me.
although i LOVE Lisa Leonard's necklace she created for the project...
and plan to get one when Bean #2 is born
and is given a name :)
but i am side tracking....
so while blog surfing
i came across this blog
who i met in Shimelle's Blogging for Scrapbookers class
another one of those things that i sign up for b/c i always sign up for everything :)
and she chose BALANCE
and it spoke to me!
i have always struggled with BALANCE!
probably b/c i say yes to everything and always take on to much
but not this year!
this year i am going to try find BALANCE with it all:
Work- create a schedule and stick to it
KLP- create a schedule that works with the goals i want to achieve and doesn't interfere (too much) with the other important aspects in my life
newborn- make sure she is given my full attention while on Maternity Time. this is our time together
Bean- continue to give her all my love while welcoming a new addition to our family
Zack- SCHEDULE date nights! i am hoping this time around (not being a first time mommy and all) i will be able to leave the girls so Zack and I can have date nights!
Money- it SCARES me to look at our YTD earnings. Where does it all go? We've got to get a a handle on this, create a budget and stick to it so we can achieve the things we want in lfe.
Exercise- make time to get back in shape after the lil one's arrival and throughout the new year. get creative with it so that it incorporates the girls, sophie and the family
Friends- we've been pretty good about scheduling playdates. would LOVE to keep it up.
Computer time- oh boy! this one is going to be HARD, so very hard for me.
Creativity- i would love to attend a crop a month or set aside a night a month to scrap my lil heart out or do other crafty things. i foresee this one staying at the bottom of the list...

i just did a Google search of BALANCE and rediscovered that my astrological sign, Libra is represented by The Scales and/or Balance.
it must be a sign, right??

and...a scrappy share. i was kind of productive during this past weekend's VC at Scrapvillage.

I am finally starting my Disneyland Album. I knew I wanted to create a quick album that showcased most/all of my photos. As I was flipping through the Jan 2010 CK magazine, I came across the perfect 2 page spread created by Annette Pixley that I knew would be perfect and off I went!
Creating my album digitally is the way to go...I am hoping to be done with it real soon!

want to start and complete Bean's first year album (a kit i purchased from CK) a LONG time ago!
got another idea for an album I want to pre-make: Your First Week Home for Bean #2

so what do i do when i get the scrappy bug? i scrap and then surf the net for inspiration.

Holiday Card Display and Keepers

I love, love, love Holiday Cards- sending them, receiving them, looking back through them (especially the photo cards.)
I usually display our cards in a star shaped photo holder that sits by the front door. But daily I am picking up cards that have fell. We didn't have a mantle this year, so I hung our stockings and garland on the half wall and ledge that separates our kitchen and living room. And it turned out so cute (if I do say so myself!)



and then what to do after you take them all down???
check out this super fun and easy Holiday Keeper.
I used a Holiday Card we received as the front and back.
Punched holes in all the cards.
Attached them all together with a binder ring.
Added ribbon to tie them all together to keep them neat and Voila! a super cute Holiday Card Keeper!
Here are 07's, 08's and 09's keepers. All done super fast in under an hour!

Journal Your Christmas 2009

Phew...getting caught up on Shimelle's Journal Your Christmas. This is my 3rd year. I thought because if the busy season i would have to digi scrap this year like Year 1, but we got my scrap goodies unpacked and i was inspired to scrap! i gathered a bunch of Christmassy supplies, pulling reds, greens, balcks, browns and krafts, in a basket and got started.

...i scrap....

when all have gone to sleep and it is just me and sophie cuddling on the couch...i get to scrap! well, when i need a break from editing :) feels so good to be creative! i can't wait to get my paper scrapping stuff out too!

i created a 4x4 mini album (let me see if i can find a link to it....brb) Here it is. and Bean just loves looking through it! "baby katelyn," "katelyn's hat," "katelyn's nose." it is just too cute watching her.

and the other day at Thanksgiving, Tyler and Ashley brought out the Scrapbooks I made them for last Christmas. I just pulled layouts out of my scrapbooks and put them in a scrapbook for each of them and I enjoyed listening to the fam make comments like "oh! i remember that" or "look how chunky you used to be." makes me remember why i scrapbook and see that all the time and effort are well worth it.

i've already started slacking with baby bean #2! no monthly preggo pics. i guess if you've seen me pregnant once, you don't need to see me preggers again, right? still contemplating preggo pics. we just took our Holiday Family Photos- Angela rocked them! I can't wait to design our Holiday Card and put together some other gift ideas I have swimming around in my head. Ok, I better get busy! Starting to feel just a wee bit overwhelmed!

i spent some time catching up on some Scrap Blogs I used to visit everyday...life has kind of gotten in the way and I haven't been able to scrap in some time :(
Zack and I spent some time the other night going through the garage..it is FILLED with boxes, but we made good progress. It made me sad to see all my scrap supplies packed away :(
So, I visited Scrap Blogss and talk about INSPIRATION!!!
I can't wait to find some time to scrap!!

KLP Days of Christmas

i scrapped!

This weekend Scrapvillage is having a Virtual Crop...what a perfect excuse to drag out all my supplies one last time before I have to pack them up for awhile. I've been wanting to scrap for some time now, gettin' the itch, but it creates such a mess and we've been showing our house, so it really wasn't feasible. Anyhow...I dragged my sutff to the dining room table, made a mess and scrapped! Here are some of the layouts I created. I had so much fun! Bean even sat at the table with me and "scrapped" (more like played with all my tools and fun embellishments.)
















Phew! That is a lot of layouts! The photos are from Mar- Jun 09. It was so much fun scrappin' these and remembering special moments with my family :)
